DR. DANIELA MATIJEVIC DDS
Dr. Daniela Matijevic grew up in Croatia, where she resided until 1997, when her family moved to Canada due to civil war. At the age of 18 she learned to speak English and decided to go to university.
Dr. Daniela Matijevic received her undergraduate degree in Honours Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Western Ontario. She was a gold medalist. She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Shulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario.
Dr. Matijevic spent the first five years of her career as an associate in Niagara Falls and Niagara-on- the-Lake, where she now lives with her family. She has a passion for learning and is continually taking new educational endeavors to increase her skill capabilities. She has travelled extensively across the US and Canada studying esthetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Matijevic is a member of ODA, CDA, and AGD. She is a member of board of directors for the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association and a former active staff member for Greater Niagara General Hospital. She is fully certified in 6 Month Smiles, which is orthodontics for adults. She is enrolled in RNAGD study group, ICOI (implant) and IOI (ortho) organization.
Dr. Daniela loves art and enjoys oil painting. She spends her free weekends at her home studio expressing herself on canvas. She is an avid tennis player. Recently, she excelled in the game of golf and skiing, her favorite outdoor activities. Another passion is wine; she enjoys supporting her partner selling his wines domestically and internationally.
Dr. Matijevic loves and enjoys working with children. She is excited to serve the Niagara-On-The- Lake community and meeting and creating new smiles.
Dr. Morris F. Erin; DDS
Dr. Erin was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended the University of Manitoba, obtaining his D.M.D. in 1978. An active member of the Edmonton District Dental Society, Alberta Dental Association, and the Canadian Dental Association, Dr. Erin has provided the full spectrum of dental treatment for over 40 years. He keeps up with the latest in technological advancements in dentistry. He is an avid golfer, curler and fan of the Edmonton Oilers.
In addition to routine dental care provided to his patients, Dr Erin has continually added to his level of care with the latest technology and treatments. Dr. Erin and his wife have re-located to Niagara on the Lake with their Norwich Terrier for his retirement from his Alberta practice.
Dr. Ramez Salti
Dr. Ramez Salti is and has been practicing dentistry for 13 years in the province of Ontario. As the eldest son of three siblings, Dr. Ramez Salti was raised with strong-valued and loving parents. Family and friends are amongst the most important things for Dr. Salti.
In 1996, he left home to attend McMaster University for his honours science degree where he studied biochemistry and mathematics. He carried on at McMaster University completing his MBA. Shortly thereafter he graduated, as valedictorian, from The University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. At Western Dentistry, Dr. Salti become instantly ‘bit by the bug’ to serve his patients, team members and community.
In his third year of Dental school, Dr. Salti travelled to Tanzania, Africa where he spent 2 months volunteering his time with schools, orphanages, hospitals, and local dental offices. This was a life-changing experience that propelled him into further outreach Canadian initiatives.
His philosophy on how dentistry should be delivered was founded and cultivated during his time in eastern Ontario communities, such as Belleville and Cobourg, where he held associate and owner roles for 13 years. His passion about providing care to his patients in a customized and multi-disciplinary fashion remains a corner stone of his clinical approach. Every patient is different, and thus every patient deserves a customized appointment such that their unique dental and social needs are met.
Dr. Salti is a member of the The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Bay of Quinte Dental Society. He is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and is certified in intra-venous conscious sedation. Dr. Salti strives to advance his training through continuing education and certification courses.
With over 13 years of commitment to education and mentorship, Dr. Salti has been a lecturer in Schulich Medicine and Dentistry’s third year program. He has also lectured at various study clubs in the Ottawa and Halifax areas. He routinely acts as a mentor to university students, dental students and new dentist graduates.
Dr. Salti offers a wide range of services for patients of all ages. In addition to general dentistry, he has a keen interest in surgical and sedation services. He has gained advanced level training in intravenous sedation, oral sedation, implant dentistry, soft and hard tissue augmentation, and wisdom teeth removal.
He spends his time away from dentistry playing soccer, exercising, and hanging out with his niece and nephews.

Aundrea: Level 2 Dental Assistant
Aundrea was born in St. Catharines, Ontario and has lived in Thorold, Ontario her entire life. Aundrea graduated from Denis Morris High school in 2006 and worked for many years before deciding to go back to school for Dental Assisting. She graduated from Niagara College in 2015 from the Dental Assisting program.
Aundrea has always had a passion for the dental field and is eager to learn more. Aundrea’s warm and caring personality helps to put patients mind at ease. She wants to be sure the patient is comfortable.
If there is one thing Aundrea can’t do, it’s sit still! She definitely doesn’t waste time and is always on the go. Newly married, Aundrea and her husband love to travel and enjoy cuisines from all over the world. Her husband is a chef, and food has always been a big part of their lives. When the weather is nice, you will see them with their dog Luna, out driving their vintage muscle car. Aundrea enjoys the outdoors, fitness and the beauty Niagara has to offer.
Melissa: Level 2 Dental Assistant
Melissa Marr was born and raised in Fort Erie, Ontario. Growing up in a small town has encouraged Melissa to seek a more personal/family oriented career.
Melissa is a mother of a loving and caring 4-year-old daughter named Jayda. Melissa is in a 6 year common-law relationship with Jayda’s dad- Ken. She enjoys spending her quality time with family; whether it is a movie night, bonfires in the backyard, skating, or even going to local attractions together. Melissa also enjoys snowboarding, painting, yoga, and relaxing at the spa.
Melissa used to love visiting her local dental office growing up, which in turn, helped her decide on her career in the dental field. She graduated from Everest College in Hamilton in 2013, and has been a Certified Dental Assistant for 5 years. Melissa is a member of the ODAA (Ontario Dental Assistants Association), where she continues to increase her knowledge on dental advancements.
Melissa strives to work to the best of her abilities to provide optimal care to patients. She views patients as if they are her own family and she only wants the best for them. Melissa is ecstatic to be a part of the DCN team, where patients are given the highest quality of care, the time to be educated on dentistry, and given treatment plans that are tailored to their specific needs. Melissa is eager to help patients gain an understanding of dentistry, and reassure patients with honest and gentle dental care.
Marissa Stubbert, Level 2 Dental Assistant
Marissa was born and raised in St Catharine’s, Ontario. It took her a couple of years to find what she wanted to do, but she believes the dentistry field is the right fit. She previously had taken Pre-Health Science in 2014 at Niagara College, in hopes to pursue an education to be a Physical Therapy Assistant. After realizing this was not the career path she wanted, she found something she was passionate about and graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Niagara College in May of 2018.
Although Marissa may be newer to the dental field she has developed a passion for educating patients, working with patients of all ages and constantly expanding her knowledge in the always changing dental field. You can usually find her reading through her school textbooks and online articles- always trying to learn new things about Dentistry.
Marissa grew up playing competitive sports for St Catharine’s, as well as for the high school she attended. She loved to play basketball, volleyball and soccer; you can even still find her playing soccer today – all year round! When she’s not in the office or on the field you can normally find Marissa spending time with her dog, Cooper.
Marissa can’t wait to further her education and experience working with and for the people of Virgil. She is looking forward to meeting all new faces in the dental community.
Debra: Dental Assistant
Debra graduated in 1987 as a dental assistant from Career Canada College in Hamilton. Born in Leamington, Ontario, she moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake at the age of 6. She has spent the rest of her life going to school, attending church, working and raising her family in the Virgil/Niagara-on-the-Lake area.
Working in many roles in the dental office has given Debra much joy in helping people understand dentistry and to feel calm and relaxed in a sometimes anxiety-filled atmosphere. Dentistry is always changing, and taking courses over the past years has helped her keep updated and current. It is her love of people that makes her a wonderful assistant and co-worker.
Debra is a wife and mother of three adult children. Her oldest son graduated from Brock University with a degree in physics and education and then continued his education at the University of Toronto where he completed a Master’s in Economics. Debra’s second son also graduated from Brock, studying accounting and received the Governor General’s Award for the highest standing in his graduating year. Her daughter is studying therapeutic recreation at Brock University and will graduate in 2019.
Debra has always loved sports and is still playing competitive ladies volleyball. She and her daughter are now playing together and the love of competition is great. She can also be seen walking through the streets of Virgil enjoying exercise and the outdoors. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching her children compete in ultimate Frisbee and beach volleyball. She and her family enjoy water activities and especially love boating and wakeboarding on the Niagara River.
Debra is excited to be working in the Virgil community, full of people she has known for years and new faces to meet and great.
Linsey: Dental Hygienist
Linsey Henry grew up on a farm in Ridgeway Ontario, and spent all of her childhood on the back of a horse.
Linsey graduated in 2015 from Niagara College in Welland for Dental Hygiene. She strives to advance her knowledge of dentistry by joining study clubs and attending courses. She loves the dental field as it is ever changing and always brings something new to learn.
Linsey worked in a retirement home throughout High school, and that has instilled a special place in her heart for providing treatment to geriatric patients.
During the weekend she likes to spend time with her boyfriend Matthew, dog Audrey Mae, and cat Bagel Louise. They all like to watch Netflix and eat snacks together.
She loves meeting new people and looks forward to providing the highest quality care with the rest of the team at Dental Care Niagara.
Samantha Pischedda, RDH
Samantha has had a passion for dentistry for as long as she can remember. After completing her high school co-op in the dental field, she decided to attend school to become a Dental Assistant in 2004. After working as a dental assistant for a few years, she realized her true passion was Dental Hygiene, and attended Niagara College, graduating as a Dental Hygienist in 2010.
Samantha was born and raised in St Catharines, and now lives there with her husband and two young girls. When not working, you can find Samantha walking her rambunctious dog, exercising, or spending time outdoors with her children.
As well as working at Dental Care Niagara, Samantha also teaches part time in the clinic within the dental programs at Niagara College.
Julie Dental Administrator
Julie was born and raised in the Virgil/Niagara-on-the-Lake area. She attended Niagara District Secondary School and then continued her education at Niagara College where she studied medical records. Throughout school Julie worked part time at Niagara Parks and was hired full time as a supervisor after graduating in 1994. In 1999 Julie began her career working as a dental receptionist and treatment coordinator.
Julie has loved living in a small community and enjoys the people that make up Virgil. Having children that compete on local hockey and baseball teams add to the sense of community. Friendships built at the rink and on the field last a life time. Julie’s oldest son is studying business at Niagara College and her second son is in business studies at Brock University.
Julie has always enjoyed working in the dental field where her friendly and bubbly personality makes patients feel welcomed and at ease. Dentistry is always changing and Julie has kept up by attending various continuing education courses. Keeping her knowledge current enables her to explain and educate patients in all aspects of dentistry.
Julie is excited to be working at Dental Care Niagara and serving patients in the community she has called home for her entire life.
Ulli Barthmann-Marino DD – Denturist
Ulli was born and raised in Stoney Creek, Ontario. She graduated from George Brown College in 1986 with the Clinical Award of Excellence. After graduation, she joined her father, the late Karl Barthmann, at his private denture clinic.
After 32 years in private practice she now has been with Dental Care Niagara for over 3 years as their in house denturist. With over 3 decades of experience Ulli can advise and treat removable denture clients with confidence keeping abreast of new technologies and treatment options with continuing education courses.
Ulli is a wife of 30 years with 3 grown children and has a home in Hamilton. She is an avid golfer and enjoys travelling and dining out with friends and getting together with family.
